Lord British Completely Misses Irony

Lord British Completely Misses Irony:

The two choice quotes from the article:

“[Other game designers] generally say, ‘You know, I really like Medal of Honor, but I would have bigger weapons, or I would have more healing packs, or,’ you know. They go to make one or two changes to a game they otherwise love versus really sit down and rethink,‘How can I really move the needle here?’”

That’s a direct quote from Richard Garriott, basically calling out his fellow game developers for incrementing or re-visiting the well too often.

Then the article concludes with this (not the quote inside is taken directly from the Kickstarter page):

“Garriott’s new game, Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues, has succeeded on Kickstarter with the promise that it’s a ‘return to his fantasy RPG roots, hearkening back to his innovative early work.’”

Uh-huh.

If Spider-Man’s power was shooting spiders out of his hands, no one would commit crime ever.

Spider-hands = no crime.

I will run for office on this political platform.

“I don’t mind your showing me your legs….

I don’t mind your showing me your legs. They’re very swell legs and it’s a pleasure to make their acquaintace. I don’t mind if you don’t like my manners. They’re pretty bad. I grieve over them during the long winter nights.” —Raymond Chandler
